Can we say shows are better now than before?
My attention to shows:
So, this post is coming after a binge watch of Boston Blue. If you're about to ask "What is Boston Blue?" it's a cops show on Paramount+ or CBS. The full season 1 had come out already. And no, this is not a sponsored post or anything like that. However, this show is aligned to the show called Blue Bloods. In matter in fact bring in Det. Danny and his son Shawn from Blue Bloods and having them go to Boston and basically in the simplest way without spoiling anything; start their new lives over there.
Now, I will say that it isn't really till now that I've found myself more interested in shows. Growing up I watched cartoons and some T.V shows, and it wasn't even consistent. Personally if you ask me, I would dare to say the cinematic shots taken on T.V shows didn't really pull my attention as films did. Yet, I've noticed that most production companies are now starting to put more money into their shows.
Which if I'm being honest has truly been a huge factor in getting my attention. I used to see my mom watch novellas when a kid. And honestly, the quality was so terrible I wondered how my mom could watch it. Then again I guess the stories is what drove my mom to watch them. Still, there has always been something about me that was always attracted to the quality of video and audio. Which turned me away from a lot of shows. Shows that people claim are the best shows ever too!
The quality importance:
Sorry, guess not sorry. Yes, I love a great story. But being ADHD the story can't be the only thing that's good. It has to be more. The story can drag me in but the quality of video and sounds is what keeps me watching. Maybe that's why I find myself watching more shows now than before. I don't want to say that shows before are worse than now. Because the reality is, they maybe better in plenty of other aspects. Like for example, maybe shows did a better job of developing a character, story arcs, and more.
Difference of slow burning show vs movie to me:
Yet, I can't judge any of those things. Yes, I maybe bias and say shows now are better than before. But I won't be ignorant. I do believe that there maybe shows that I passed up on because they weren't my style of shows. Or I watched it and got bored because it was a super slow burner. Which if I'm being honest for shows is not that good. I don't mind a slow burning film because that's just two hours or less. But shows that run slow for multiple episodes before actually picking up is dreadful to me.
Now, shows like Boston Blue really peaked my interest with its aesthetics and its story. I've watched a few episodes of Blue Bloods but never fully got into it. Again if you were to look at quality of the show then and Boston Blue now. I think you can easily see the difference. Yes, it's more than likely because tech has been more readily available and more affordable to an extent or even budget option quality has gotten better as well. But yeah, it has def caught my attention.
I won't sit here and say that the shows now are better than before. I will say however I do think they look better than before. If you think different please tell me in the comments below. Wonder what's your thoughts on this.
