Movies of the 90's and 2000's are the best!

Deep thinking:

Talk about clickbait, right? 🤣 Well you may or may not consider this clickbait. But then again, the title got you here, so I guess the title was a good idea. But enough about the title, I want to talk about something that I was just now thinking about! The questions that were drawn into my head was simple, " Are the movies from the 90's and 2000's better than the movies of the 2010's and 2020's so far?". Deep thinking, I know right? Well, when I was pondering these questions two interconnected questions; I started to think about movies I enjoyed from the 2000's instantly. Yet, the 90's films were a somewhat after thought. Not because they aren't good.

But mainly because I was a kid during the 90's and spent more time watching cartoons than actual films. Though I can never forget my beloved Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie. The number of times I watched that movie is somewhat sickening. But man, oh man was that my childhood. Outside of that film, 90's movies don't come immediately to mind. There are some that I continued to watch over and over again as an adult. But my interest in films didn't really kick in until I was 10 years old. And by that time, it was 2002. Now, I will say however that there are a bunch of 90's movies I love and enjoy. However, since my love of movies started in the 2000's I can recall more 2000's movies than 90's for sure.

Experience V.S Appreciating:

I think there's a huge difference in experiencing something versus appreciating something. Though I was born in the 90's I couldn't really experience much of the movies. Especially classics like Terminator 2, Pulp Fiction, The Silence of The Lamb, My Cousin Vinny, and more! I didn't really see those films until my teen years, and when I did I appreciated them and what they were. As well as what they helped bring to the table in the 2000's. Because if I'm being honest hear the list of movies got better when the 2000's came around. Or maybe that's just my bias overall. 

Though looking back and watching a bunch of 90's movies and 2000's movies. I would dare to say that the 90's and 2000's gave us a bunch of memorable movies. Movies you can watch time and time again and never get bored of them. I honestly find myself watching more 90's and 2000's films than 2010's and 2020's. I would even dare to say that my wife feels the same way... conformation incoming... " I love the movies from the 90's to the early 2000's" - a quote from Gigi(My wife). Movie nights in our household lean heavily on 90's and early 2000's movies with a sprinkle of movies from the 2010's. 

Movies just aren't the same:

If I'm being quite honest here, I don't think they make movies like they used to... says every old head. If you're from Philly or have hood culture 🤣 you know what I meant when I said that. Yet, I wouldn't dismiss the movies from the 2010's and 2020's all together. There's been plenty of good movies *cough *cough superhero films feel like they took over the last two decades. But, I will say they are movies you can watch over and over again if you're a fan. I will say that honestly I do feel like due to the entering of streaming services and giants like Netflix movies really haven't been the same. 

What do I mean by this? Well, instead of studios taking their time to create beautiful art to put on the big screen. They've been pumping out movies like cakes coming out of a big factory. Except, that instead of all but few being bad. There's more bad movies than good. And some movies are just so bad that their good, in a funny kinda way. But enough about my rant here. I might just go ahead and do a podcast episode on this title. I think there is more to this conversation or this thought than I'm willing to type. Or at least type at this moment.
