Should asylums come back?

Talking what I know and personal experience:

I may lose some of you with this one but we'll see. Again, I believe we can all agree to disagree on plenty of subjects. And this might be one of them. Remember what this blog is about. It's pretty much about everything, from nostalgic things, to more serious and modern things. I've always been one to love to talk about everything and anything really. As well as learn about things to actually talk about them. Because let's be honest what person is going to want to talk about something they know nothing about. Or even share their opinion about something they know nothing about? Well, a lot of people are like that. Yet, that kind of person isn't me. I've always been one to talk based off of information searched with unbiased eyes. And still with personal experience as well. 

For crying out loud, I was a mediator in middle school for my middle school grade. Which honestly speaking was a great experience. Because I did learn a lot in the little time I held that role. To be a mediator is to be unbiased and to truly listen and hear what both parties had to say. Not only that but understand them as well and truly take all that they have said into true consideration. Crazy to think that this experience was in middle school huh. Still it was an experience that changed a lot of my perspective growing up. Allowing me to be a good listener and truly try to understand each person I talk to. 

Now, whether or not we always agree on things, you can imagine not. Still I've learned to respect another person's thoughts even if it were out there. I would make my opinion known of course. But I allowed them to live their merry lives the way they thought was best. Remember we all learn one way or another. Sometimes in the most humblest ways and other times not so much. Now with all that being said let's get into the meat and potatoes of this title you've read... Also the reason for this disclosure is so you get to understand me a bit more and understand a bit of who I am as an individual. 

Should Asylums comeback? Answer and reason:

Should asylums make a comeback? My honest answer is yes. If you ask me personally I think it is almost necessary at this point in time. The truth of the matter is that when people are truly thinking outside of common knowledge and basic science there has to be some sort of underlying issue at hand. I understand that we have psychiatric hospitals, which can be helpful. The truth of the matter is there are plenty of people that go in there and come out either the same or if not worse. And I'm honestly saying this from personal experience. I have been to one of those hospitals personally about 4 times for depression. But thank God that I'm not like that anymore. 

Yet, when I was in there I saw and experienced a lot. A lot of them there it wasn't their first time either. In most cases staff knew them from their times being there. At one point I remember a nurse telling me how one patient was always in and out of that hospital and that it was probably their 10th to 15th time. If you ask me personally that is genuinely the definition of insanity. Yes, there are outpatient options for when someone is more stable. Still the truth is not everyone that goes in there are all fully insane. Some are there because they are mentally worn out or are going through something that they no longer can bare. Myself and my reason for example. 

Still majority weren't really mentally stable. And no not all of them had a drug habit. The conception that drugs are the only thing that makes a person insane is truly idiotic in the simplest term. Some experience major traumatic experiences, or have had some sort of brain injury, etc. Still there are some that just don't live in reality. What's crazy about all of this now is that we are seeing this more and more on social media. Whether you agree with me or not. The fact that we have to ask questions like "What is a woman?" or even "What are your pronouns?" is pure insanity. And before I get a lot of hate from people that don't know me. 

Who I am and my defense:

Yes, I am a Christian, no I'm not homophobic. I actually have family members that are gay. An aunt that is married with another woman. Multiple cousins that are bi-sexual along with my sister who is bi-sexual as well. Do I agree with their way of being and their choices? No, not at all. But I love them and respect them. I try and talk to them about God whenever I can and pray for them most importantly. Still, it's their lives and they do as they want. What makes things bad is when people try to be something that they aren't. Trying to change their image to something they are not. Or mainly saying they are something they are not.

And to make this clear, no this is not just towards the trans community. This is also towards the people that think that they are animals. Or even people that ignore the facts and only want to believe in their "truths". Seriously, what does that even mean? There is fact or fiction. Now faith has to do with a different category of things. Still people are losing it and we are seeing everything unravel in front of our very eyes. The worst part of it all is that these people are the most aggressive and most dangerous of the bunch. What they are capable of doing almost feels unreal. The killings, the abuse, which is both physical and verbal is out of control. This has nothing to do with left or right. This isn't politics that I'm talking about. 

Our safety view in it all:

What I'm talking about all in all is about humanity. I understand that we may not always agree on things like this topic specifically. But let's be honest if we can't keep certain people in jail because they are considered insane. Shouldn't we have a place to keep them away for good? Why should the rest of the country have to worry about someone that is completely and utterly mentally unstable walking around outside. Near their children, or even around themselves. We are continuously having shootings with truly no rhyme or reason. Outside of the fact that someone is truly mentally unstable. Yes, urban crime has always been a thing. And growing up in Philadelphia I experienced those things first hand. Still they had more reasons for their actions that made more sense then those that do it for nothing. A reason that revolves around not understanding things and allowing false things to drive their decision. 

Ultimately, I think a call for asylums back is the way to go. If we can't keep certain people in prisons because of their mental state. Then we must have an alternative to make sure everyone is safe.
